From single antique pieces and estate restoration to injection mold cleaning, industrial tooling, automotive rust removal, and historic masonry — we serve residential, commercial, and industrial customers across New Jersey, New York, and Eastern Pennsylvania.
Founder & Owner — The Laser Cleaning Shop LLC
I started The Laser Cleaning Shop after spending two years trying to restore a 1976 Airstream Argosy — and discovering there wasn't a single mobile laser cleaning operator in New Jersey. Rather than settle for that, I studied the industry thoroughly. I learned the technology from the ground up, connected with experienced operators across North America, and put in the training hours to do this right.
I'm currently completing my certification as a Laser Safety Officer, and every job I take on is backed by that training. I personally handle every project — no subcontractors, no crews. When you call or text, you're talking to me. When I show up, it's me.
I'm based in Sussex, NJ with a second pickup location in Lambertville, and I serve customers across NJ, NY, and Eastern PA.

The Laser Cleaning Shop started with a 1976 Airstream Argosy sitting in a driveway with a rusted frame and no one willing to clean it without building a tent over the whole thing. After discovering laser cleaning on TikTok and finding zero local operators in NJ, the owner called Canadian shops who were already doing it, learned the technology, and built the business from scratch. That personal project is still waiting — and it's next in line.
Pulse laser cleaning targets contamination at the surface level. We work without chemicals, without abrasives, and without the secondary mess that often comes with traditional methods.
We welcome projects of all sizes — individual parts, small antiques, cherished collectibles, and large industrial jobs alike. Drop-off, pickup, shop work, and on-site visits are all available. We work around your schedule and your needs — not the other way around.

Different cleaning and restoration methods each have a place. This table helps customers understand where laser cleaning stands out — especially when precision, control, and surface preservation matter most.
| Method | Substrate Damage | Media / Waste | Precision | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Laser Cleaning | None — non-contact, non-abrasive | Minimal — no media, dry process | Very High — selective, controllable | Historic stone, ornamental ironwork, machines & equipment, thin metals, in-place work |
| Sandblasting / Abrasive | Moderate–High — can pit or profile surface | High — spent media, dust containment needed | Low–Medium — hard to control on detail | Heavy mill scale, structural steel, thick coatings on robust substrates |
| Chemical Stripping | Low–Moderate — depends on chemistry | High — hazardous waste, runoff handling | Medium — difficult to control on site | Batch shop work on metal parts; flat surfaces in controlled environments |
Laser cleaning is still unfamiliar to many people. Here are the questions we hear most often — from homeowners, contractors, and industrial customers alike.
Pulse laser cleaning uses focused light energy to vaporize rust, paint, soot, and other surface contamination — without grinding, blasting, or chemicals. The laser targets only the contamination layer, leaving the base material underneath completely untouched.
Yes — pulse laser cleaning is non-contact and non-abrasive. Power settings are adjusted based on material sensitivity and we can test on a small inconspicuous area before committing to a full surface. It is widely used in historic preservation precisely because it does not damage the original substrate.
Both options are available. For large, fixed, or on-site equipment — like machinery, building facades, or structural metalwork — we come to you. For smaller items like automotive parts, tools, antiques, and collectibles, drop-off can be arranged at our Sussex, NJ shop at 15 Boulder Hills Blvd.
We work with projects of all sizes — from a single antique, cherished keepsake, or small part, to large industrial jobs and on-site structural work. On-site and large project work starts at $250 per hour. Drop-off jobs are priced competitively with sandblasting — often significantly less. Call or text us for a free quote.
Yes — injection mold cleaning is one of the most valuable industrial applications of laser cleaning. Production molds accumulate polymer residue, carbon buildup, and release agent deposits over time, which affects surface quality and cycle times. Laser cleaning removes that contamination precisely, without touching the mold cavity surface or requiring disassembly. We serve machine shops, plastics manufacturers, and fabrication facilities throughout NJ and the NY metro area. This is industrial tooling and production equipment cleaning — not biological mold remediation.
We serve NJ, NY, and Eastern PA from our two locations in Sussex and Lambertville, NJ. See our Service Area section below for a full county breakdown, or call or text us to confirm on-site availability for your location.
Absolutely — this is one of the most common residential applications. Laser cleaning removes rust, old paint, and mill scale from wrought iron and steel railings cleanly and completely, leaving bare metal that is ideal for primer adhesion. It reaches into ornamental detail and curved surfaces that are difficult to strip by hand or blasting.
Yes. Laser cleaning is ideal for cemetery headstones, grave markers, and monuments in granite, marble, limestone, and sandstone. We safely remove lichen, algae, biological growth, atmospheric staining, and surface discoloration without chemical treatments that can damage stone. This is a growing service area for us — call or text to discuss your specific stone or monument.
Yes. Pulse laser cleaning is one of the safest methods available for historic stone including fieldstone, limestone, sandstone, and granite. The laser vaporizes surface contamination without abrading or etching the underlying stone. Power settings are adjusted based on material sensitivity.
